I got a list from my advisor at college on all the classes I need to take for pre pharmacy, but I am unsure of what classes I should begin with. How would Math, General biology and General Chemistry be? Would this be to much or does it sound good to begin with. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

  1. you dont really need that much of a background for pharmacy, it is basically just remembering drugs names and their purpose.  Out of those three a little bit of simple maths would help, chemistry wont and general biology wont, but really if you pay attention in pharmacy you will be fine.  Meanwhile just pick the subjects that you think you'll enjoy and enjoy this year while you can!

  2. English, math, general chem 1, biology, history

  3. My first semester I took General Chemistry 1, Calculus 1, English, and a social science course.

I APed out of general biology.

  4. That is always the starting point for the 1st year in pre-pharm.  General biology, gen chem, and pre-cal or calculus is how it gets started.  Those are the pre-requistes for later chem and biology courses.

Soph year is usually organic chem, another biology class (genetics, biochemistry, etc) and calculus if it was not taken freshmen year.

Please start off great.  I only wish my freshman year was as great as my soph and jr years!
