What classes should i take if i want to be a history teacher?

i want to teach high school world history and was wondering what would be some good courses to take? any advice would be appreciated.

  1. Usually a bachelor of teaching/bachelor of arts would be the way to go. Im studying to be a teacher too, and they mentioned that its easier to find work in the filed if you have multiple subjects backgrounds, thats why i have to do a major and a minor in two different subjects. I suggest that you take modern and ancient history as a major, and do other units in another subect you also like. Depending which university you go to,  the courses vary. Some bachelor of teaching courses usually range for 4 years, the first three years is dedicated to your major and minors, and the fourth year is usally where you learn your education modules. Or the course maybe will look into your major, minor and education modules throughout the 4 years, like mine. I suggest you look up universities, call them up and maybe speak to students at the uni's and see what they feel about the course structures and university itself. It took me 2 years to find the one teaching course i liked. Best of luck! i hope that helped.
