What classifies food as breakfast lunch and dinner?

For me, only time of day. I eat the craziest stuff for "breakfast". I usually have "dinner"-type foods for breakfast and vice-versa.

it is not set in the beginning pancakes would be breakfast but over time that is when it is served the most and so on with all other food,,, so the beginning of time it was not predestined

Cultural and geographic differences.  Different countries eat totally different foods for each meal.

Umm...  Well the time you eat it and pancakes are usually breakfast, a sandwhich could be lunch, and a hot meal should be dinner

After a day of eating, then going to sleep, and waking up.

Could you possibly wake up between 7am & 8

( maybe earlier for some people ) - and eat a large pizza, and french fries ?

Breakfast is a light snack to help get your day started.

Lunch can be a small or medium sized meal.

Then dinner, you eat a large variety.

This is how I was raised in the U.S.A.

( any other way of doing it, I think I'd be down right nauseous )
