Question:

What cleaners can I use to remove the smell/blood of a dead animal I ran over from under my car?

The other day I was driving to work and I ran over over a giant piece of meat (probably the remains of a deer that was ran over and over). I had no place to swerve, as there was a car in front of me, a semi truck on my right, and the edge on the road on my left. I pulled over to the side of the road, only to see that there was pieces of meat hanging from the undersides of my car. It's been days after that incident, and I have removed every piece of deer jerky under my car that I know of. I also went to the car wash and carefully pressure washed the underside of my car with water and soap. This was done only with the gun though, I didn't use a scrubbing brush. It still smells like cooked meat down there. Please help!

  1. Use a good water gun..the more powerfull the better and load with Peroxide...spray at even intervals..be sure to wash away remains of peroxide with soapy water..Peroxide is used to remove blood from clothes and sheets in the hospitals..

  2. Car wash

  3. Yuk!

  4. You'll probably have to get like steel wool (pan scrubber) and scrub the burnt deer off the exhaust pipe. It probably has cooked onto the exhaust. It will go away eventually. A nice long highway drive might help it to burn the rest off. If you crawl up under the car to scrub the exhaust, make sure you jack it up and use jack stands for safety. Also, I would wait until the car is nice and cold.

  5. Been there done that when I workeed at a Dealership. Have the vehicle taken to a repair shop and have them clean the meat off the exhaust, and other area's. Its worth the money to have this done, and not a pretty chore to be done. Talk nice and tell the repair shop what happened.

And have the other under area's of the vehicle to be checked for damage. That insurance might cover part of this, check with your coverage, and call your insurance agent. It can be a very costly repair, so check before taking the vehicle in. And have pictures taken when the vehicle is up in the air, and noting the miles on your speedometer, date, time, and a written repair order from a repair shop which is licenced: A friend will not help if a claim is be done through your claims adjuster. Ask your agent what should be done is the safest Bet.
