  1. A lot of people swear by the method of cleaning them with dish detergent and distilled water. The recommended detergents are Ivory Liquid or Original Palmolive (it must be the original formula - the green stuff, not Ultra Palmolive) because these have the fewest additives and won't leave undesired deposits on your LPs. Use a very soft cloth, when washing (in a sink or dish pan), rinse and let them dry on a clean dish rack. Be careful not to wet the labels as they may start to rub off. Another method is to use an ounce or so of denatured alcohol in a gallon of distilled water. Do not use rubbing alcohol - it can degrade the vinyl.

  2. We use to use Windex and a very soft cloth like the new microfiber cloths.

  3. Forget what everyone has said! I use baby wipes, and they clean the record without scratching it.

  4. I always dust them down i add nothing and i always dust them again when they come out of there sleeves and covers.
