To clean my car i use old used vest (banian), it absorbs water well. But, where can i buy such cloth exclusively to clean my car? or, is there any other fabric that does the job well?

  1. cotton is the best .. but make sure that it should not have kind of hair :)

    vest isnot a bad idea

to clean the mirrors put some water on it .. then clean it with it newspaper for best clarity

  2. a chamois is the best idea, it might be more expensive than a baniyan, but will be worth especially to polish your car. some dedicated car polish would be good, but to absorb the water a sponge might be your best option.

  3. use something like a old towel, they work great too.

  4. Old TEE (shirts) does a great job for washing.

You can also go to auto parts store and they have both sponge for washing and SHAMMY to dry it.

    good luck...

  5. I would not use any clothing on my car. It may contain nylon stitching fibers which may scratch over time. Use all cotton towels, automotive towels designed for the job or microfiber cloths. I am also not a fan of shammys unless you clean them between uses, they are very small and can get contaminated with dirt easily. Old towels are also not ideal, the soft cotton material washes out over time, invest a few bucks in new towels - you can pick up a new white all cotton towel at wal mart for 3-4 dollars, use them just for your car, wash between uses and store them in a dust free place.

  6. A chamois is the best cloth for cleaning cars. You can buy them at the supermarket

  7. I do not recommend Cotton or articles of clothing. It will leave marring and even add scratches into your paint. I strongly suggest using microfiber drying towels for painted surfaces and California jelly for windows. Microfiber does not scratch paint and absorbs water extremely well. As for the California jelly, it drys window streak free and water spot free without scratching the glass; however, i would not recommend it for paint~though it claims it will not swirl or scratch the paint.
