  1. ..heheh...funny but cute question..

I would say that low riding Jeans are fine but depending on the area of Spain you are going to be

If in the big cities I would say stylish Jeans and maybe some boots.(that what many of the women here wear)

If your in the Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid you wont feel comfortable unless you wear something very stylish...if your in the trendy Center of Madrid then you could be a little more relaxed as all styles are excepted there.

However I think overall I have say never wear sweats and a tee on the streets as in the U.S.( unless jogging or running)

  2. Mmmm...OK, I'm 24, so maybe not as useful as I may have been ten years ago.

Well, first thing it depends a lot on where you're staying. People don't dress the same in big city and in a small town. Not even the same in big cities. For example, women in Madrid tend to wear more makeup and higher heels than in Barcelona. It must he same in the States. I'm sure there's a difference in fashion between the West and the East Coast.

It also depends on what social group you fit and hobbies. You obviously won't dress the same if you're the surfer, sporty type    than if you more into the posh style. Generally, I would say the in thing right now are very skinny fitting or sixty style jeans. As someone said, boots are always a good option in Spain, as are now high heeled peep toes and ballerinas.

Popular brands among teenagers here would be Quicksilver/Roxy, Rams23,O'neill, La Martina, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Laurent, DKNY, Lois, Bultaco, G-Star, Rip Curl,  Replay, Desigual, Miss Sixty, Fornanina, Puma, Custo Barcelona etc

Cheaper shops that are also very popular are Stradivarius, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Zara, Blanco...Check the webs and you will see what young people here dress like. I understand you because I would have been the same at your age if I had gone to live abroad! :-)

    www.bershka.es

www.zara.com (go to trf option, that's the young clothe line)

    www.blancoint.com

    www.e-stradivarius.com

    www.pullbear.com

    www.misssixty.com

    www.desigual.com

I'm sorry, but I can't think of a similar North American style because I've never been to the States :-S
