What club set for high school golfer? price range? beginner?

What is a good golf set i can buy from academy or something for a beginner high school golfer. Price range 150 to 250. If you play high school golf, what do you have and price?

I can't help in terms of buying a whole set, but If you are only beginning, you really only need a few individual clubs, which you can buy seperately at a golf store. Say a putter, 9 iron, 5 iron, a wood, and maybe a chipping club. In terms of brand, it's probably good to talk to the owner. If you can get a whole set cheap then go for that, but with this price range, I'd say you'd have to buy a club at a time, and fill in the gaps, 'cause clubs are about $30 each.

GotoCraigslist.com in your city and search for men's clubs, they usually have pictures. Then pick what you like.  Or search  ebay and by something cheap.  You can buy expensive clubs when you get serious.

I have the old Nike Sling Shot irons, they are a bit more then 250 but not too expensive. I don't think you'll pick up a good set between 150 to 250.

I use PING but they are a bit pricey.

How about Wilson or something? I really don't know...

I was in your same situation and i bought used ping eye 2's and i absolutely love them.  they costed $200 and can be bought off ebay.
