  1. to become a doctor...u could go to any university that has a pre med school/doctors program...how long it will take i dont know...classes anything that has to do wit science

  2. There are many colleges that offer medical degrees.  Obviously, some are more prestigious than others, but they are also much harder to get into and more expensive.  What state do you live in?

  3. I'm pre-med and not a specific pre-med major.  At my school (Northwestern University), there is no official premed major or minor, and I don't think there is in other schools either, because as long as you take  chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, biology, math, and some english (and of course a variety of other classes) and do well in them, you pretty much qualify to go to medical school.  The four more important ones are chem, orgo, bio, and physics, but all are beneficial/necessary.  You should look at the percentage of how many students graduate and get accepted into medical school for the particular schools (the higher the percentage, the better!).  I was told by advisers that what is important in being premed is taking and succeeding in the classes (and in your undergraduate career in general), getting undergraduate clinical experience, and choosing a major that interests you (it doesn't have to be a science major, many schools take interest in a non-science major applicant, i'm a psych major).

To become a doctor, to summarize, you finish undergraduate school, get clinical experience, and then go to medical school for a certain number of years (varies with specialty), do a residency for a certain amount of years (also varies), and eventually you'll be a doctor.  It takes a lot of hard work, time, and commitment.

For classes to take in high school, it would be good to have a science background/foundation, so maybe taking some science classes help (and some AP science classes could get you even further).  Also, math and english are important, but again it's more important to prepare yourself for college in general because you can choose if you'll be pre-med once you get to college also.

Good luck and enjoy your senior year!

  4. 4 years of undergraduate studies for a B.S. - you do not need a school that has a "Pre-Med" undergraduate program, you can major in Biology.

    4 years of medical school

    Internship - 1 year

Residency - 2 or more years depending on specialty

Advice - better take some English classes in high school, so you can learn how to write an understandable paragraph, with proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, or you will not get very far as an undergraduate at any university.

  5. honestly. make sure you take bio/chem/physics. cuz youll have to take that in college as pre med requirements.

its better if u can get into a 7/8 yr program.

stonybrook. bu. michigan. a bunch of them are good.

which ones are you planning on applying to?
