  1. just like she said...

  2. First understand that there is no such thing as a "4-year degree".  Drop the idea of years from your mind.

Now, a bachelor's degree requires about 120 semester hours of college credit (some are more, very few are less).  If you take 15 semester hours each fall and spring for 4 years, you have 120 hours.  This is where the "4-year degree" notion comes from.

Taking classes isn't the only way to accumlate some credit though.  Standardized testing can be an excellent way to knock a year off of your degree plan if you test well and can self-prepare for the exams.  Most colleges will limit credit by exam to about 30 hours.  Three colleges have no limit. (Excelsior College, Charter Oak State College, Thomas Edison State College)  Using CLEP/DANTES/ECE/AP exams, you could cut your time considerably and save some money.

Also, most colleges don't limit your academic load to 15 hours.  The max is usually closer to 21 but 18 is plenty for most people.  If you do 18 hours every fall and spring, you will have completed an extra 6 hours per year - that's one year of "extra" credits for every four years of study this way.

Then too, most colleges don't limit their academic calendar to fall and spring.  There is almost always a summer session that you can pick up another 6 hours in.  Some schools also have a maymester, short-summer sessions, and even a winter session that you could pick up another 3 hours each in.

It is reasonably possible to complete a bachelor's degree in three years taking advantage of these possibilities.  It can theoretically be done in 2 years but most people wouldn't be able to handle that stress-load.

This applies to all colleges.  It's nothing special or unique to have an accelerated plan.  Just be sure you really want to dedicate that sort of time and effort.  Taking a full load like this for 12 months a year means no job and no social life.  It's school 24/7/365.

Personally, I like to take my time and enjoy the experience.  There's no hurry - I'm planning on living a little while yet.

  3. the university of antarctica has a graduate program in cold, very cold and darn cold. If you have anywhere decent I Q, it takes less than one semester to get it.

  4. all Bachelors require something like 140 credit hours to complete, which usually takes 4 years. The only way that I know to get it quicker is to take 15 hours a semester and take classes during the summer session and intersessions...

  5. Create a list of all universities with the average starting salaries of their graduates.  The schools with the lowest starting salaries are the ones where you can get a bachelor's degree quickly.
