  1. Yahoo! Answers will not help you become a S.W.A.T. member.

Chances are you aren't going to make it. Research elsewhere, possibly proffesional websites.

  2. No college will adequately prepare you for the rigors of SWAT.  They look more at law enforcement and military experience.

  3. Two ways to do this.

One is to go military and take up sniping.  Many SWAT snipers are ex-military snipers.  Not an easy program to get into though.

The other is Criminal Justice degree.  Take up shooting sports as a hobby if you havent by now.  If you havent, you need to realize its not like a video game, AT ALL.  Once you get the degree, you go to Police Academy, and try to get into SWAT and as a sniper.  It will be hard, as you will have to be in peak condition physically, and a great shot off the bat.

There arent many SWAT members at all.  Think about it.  SWAT are the elite of the police force.  So they are only a small percentage.  And in smaller cities, SWAT is usually a collaboration of a few different city departments.  Not saying you cant do it, but you better get your shooting proficiency up like now if you want to make it.

  4. I'm not absolutely positive but i'm pretty sure you have to take the same classes you would if you wanted to be a cop. Spanish would help most likely..and the Marines or Army would be excelent refrences for a S.W.A.T member

  5. Math and Spanish

  6. You should go to college for a degree in criminal justice, preferably a BA but an associates would be good.  You need to join the police department and work for several years in that capacity, take a test, and be considered good SWAT material by the superiors.  You then go through intensive training for the new assignment.  You don't just be one thing--you are part of a team.

Separately, you can join a firing range and get to be VERY good at marksmanship.
