I hope to become a professional editor or publisher for novels/books/ect... And I would like to know what classes I should take when I get to college, to help narrow down my choices of institutions.

(I actually had asked this question here before, but for some reason it was deleted...Don't really know why.)

  1. English classes would be a good start.  Advanced English to be more specific.  Journalism is most likely required.  Maybe a mass communication class and also I would join the school newspaper maybe you could work as the editor. It would give you some experience.  You could talk to your college adviser and they will hook you up with any class they think you need to take.

  2. You should see an academic advisor at the college your attending. They will be able to lay out a plan of all the classes you should take for your whole college career, and then you don't have to worry about it because you'll know for sure.

  3. Hm, you should definitely be an English major.

I'd also recommend going to a college and sitting down with a counselor. They will tell you exactly what you need and don't need. Or, email the college website itself.

BTW - in high school, I'd recommend AP Lit and AP Language. :)
