What college football team/school do you think of when you see these abbreviations?

I've noticed a lot of people on here use abbreviations like UM or UT when talking about college football teams. Sometimes I wonder how the heck they expect us to know who they're talking about. A few, like LSU, are pretty obvious, but some aren't. There's a ton of UM teams out there.

So who do you think of when you see:

UM

UT

ASU

UA

USC

I picked those since they're probably the 5 most used abbreviations I see, and they all can mean more than one team.

I thought I'd use this to try to figure out who people are most likely to be talking about when they're too lazy to type out a few more letters.

ut- texas, tennessee,

asu- arizona st, arkansas st

ua- alabama, arkansas

usc- south carolina, southern cal

ASU-Arizona State

UA-Auburn

USC-Southern Cali.

UM could also go for Miami but we just kno them as the "U" not for the M.

Tennessee could also be UT but not many talk bout them.

USC for South Carolina but the Trojans are more known then them gamecocks.

UT can mean either Texas or Tennessee.  Its particularly confusing when you consider that they have a similar orange.

UM like you said may refer to any number of schools.  Michigan, Maryland, Miami, Miami-OH, Minnesota, Montana to name only a few.  I dont believe it would apply to Maine or Missouri however.

ASU most often refers to Arizona State, but may also mean Appy St from Boone, N.C.

USC is most commonly associated with Southern Cal, but may also refer to South Carolina.

UA means nothing to me personally, maybe Aurburn or Arizona.
