What college should I go to?

Question

I am going into eighth grade. I know it seems too early to be thinking about college.

I have known what I wanted to do since I was 5. Nobody pushed me into doing it or anything. I have wanted to go into politics.

I have very high standards.

All AP classes.

What courses should I take?

My thoughts on college..

Princeton

Yale

Stanford

University of Maryland Eastern Shore

and Pace

Any ideas...?

Take the SAT first then start to consider your options when it comes to tuition, etc.  Overall, visit these schools.  That's the best way you'll know if you like it.

Those are all great schools. I live in Maryland, I have all my life, and the University of Maryland is great!!!!! EXCELLENT SCHOOL! University of Maryland Eastern Shore-not so much.

Why not talk this over with your parents since they are the ones who will be paying for your tuition. If you are Super smart perhaps you will qualify for a scholarship. If not, the money will be coming out of their pockets. You and your parents have 4 years to decide.

You are right -- it does seem too early.

Your list is odd.  You have three great schools and two that are nowhere near as good.  Your choices are kind of like saying "I want a really good meal, I am either going to have Steak, Lobster, Pheasant, a Microwave Dinner or Mac&Cheese.

There are lots of schools in between.  For example, U of MD is an excellent school -- but U of MD, Eastern Shore -- not so much.

Forget about Pace and UMD-ES.  You will probably be able to do better.  As for the other three -- do as well as you can in HS, and you may have a shot.
