Hello, my name is Julia and I am heading into my sophomore year at a New Jersey all-girls highly competitive Catholic school. I have achieved many things this summer, and am wondering what colleges that I can get into if I continue this pattern of good grades, volunteering, and community outreach. Thanks.

GRADES:

3.7 GPA unweighted (for freshman year)

I took all honors classes freshman year, except for French. I was placed in sophomore CP French last year, but I was still disappointed that I was not put into honors.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Intern at family-owned law firm (2 years)

Grader/Tutor at a local Kumon learning center (1 month)

Book reviewer/teen writer for local newspaper--I have my own column, and it appears every other week in three local newspapers

VOLUNTEER WORK:

Volunteer at local camp for mentally and physically disabled children; 4 weeks during the summer and weekends during the winter. (2nd year)

Volunteer CCD teacher at local parish (starting in September)

SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT:

Underclassman editor of my school's literary magazine, ORB (starting in October.)

Staff writer for school newspaper (was on it this year & last.)

Member of CARE, a community service organization.

Member of REBEL, an anti-smoking organization.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS/AWARDS:

Experienced writer--my work has appeared on the TeenInk website and in the local newspaper.

Recipient of the President's Gold Award for my volunteer work this summer, which is for contributing 100 hours or more.

Recipient of the Honor Roll Award at my school, which is for maintaining a 3.6+ unweighted GPA throughout the year.

Avid tennis player--not on my school's team, but compete in local tournaments.

Member of my parish's youth group.

That's it!

  1. Well since yahooanswers isn't a college why don't you send your application in and then when they send you a letter home you will find out what colleges you get into :D

  2. Wow, these people really aren't helpful to you... :-)  glad I dropped by.

You'll want the college that is the best fit for you.  And you sound like you're pretty successful so far and are quite focused on the future, so you'll probably have a lot of schools that you can choose from.  When I was looking at colleges, I found that the Princeton Review had some really helpful resources.

    http://www.princetonreview.com/com.aspx?...

This link will take you to a survey that will help you choose the best college for you.  And, while I'm here, let me put in two cents for St. Lawrence University... www.stlawu.edu.  That's where I went, and it was amazing.  Hope that helps!

  3. stop trying, you will never make it in life. n stop asking people questions that they dont know the answers to. jeez

  4. any..apply and find out.

with grades as good as that you should know already..

but go to  www.collegeboard.com and do a college search, it will help you with your options.

  5. if money and knowing the right people is not a struggle for you, I am sure that you could get into almost any school. You didn't really specify what you wanted to go into so its hard to base it directly off your achievements.

  6. dam. and ur gonna be a sophmore? well first of all, dont fkc up!

with that said u prob will. u can check on collegeboard.com (maybe ur school counselor will do this with u wen u get older) and make an account. when ur account is made u can check colleges and their stats. also theres this thing on that website called "how do i stack up" where u enter in your school stuff(gpa, sat/act scores, rank) and it will compare u to their freshmen that entered. its pretty helpful.

and please dont fkc up. and keep it going! gude luck. hope i was helpful.
