Hello, some of you might remember me. I used to have a very successful Y!answers account, but due to a misunderstanding it no longer exists.

anyway,

Please tell me the best colleges you know of that I can get into if I graduate with the following record (which I haven't yet, but this is what I'm working to achieve)

...3.9 G.P.A (max at my school is 4.00)

...2350-2400 SAT score

...34-36 ACT score

...9 years of violin

...7 years of french horn, and trumpet

involvement in only a few extracurricular activities including a youth orchestral program.

any other questions just ask.. :)

  1. You have a better-than-average chance at the Ivies, Duke, Swarthmore, Stanford, Georgetown, and the like, but you shouldn't expect to be admitted to any of them, as they reject more qualified applicants than they accept.

You will probably get into a lot of great schools (like NYU, GW, BC, Vassar, etc.), just don't get your hopes up too much in counting on schools like the Ivies), and do apply to some safeties.

  2. harvard

    princeton

    yale

hey i was going to make up a whole list. to be honest, with that GREAT sat score and that extraodinary gpa, ALL COLLEGES WILL OPEN THEIR DOORS TO YOU!!!!!

If you are a science type my suggestion is Caltec.  Otherwise I like Pitzer, Carleton or Kenyon.

While it is certainly worthwhile applying to schools like Yale etc they reject students as good or even better than you all the time.  So don't count on it.

    Thanks

    Bill
