I am going to be a senior this year.

My SAT scores were 1900

I am in Calculus BC (I was always one year ahead in math)

Tech English 4 along with Tech computer classes

Spanish 4 AP

AP bio

Took 2 extra classes besides the tech programs (AP psychology sophomore year and Art)

I took all the mandatory classes and always recieved a grade higher than a B -

4th year Cheerleading

I am a people person, I really enjoy socializing and fun things, and interested in sororities.

and I live in CA so I would want my college to be public and either west coast or east coast

So anyone with experience, could you recommend psychology major colleges that would accept me?

Thank you!

  1. I agree with Ranto, but without a GPA it's hard to name names. I'm thinking UCLA and UCB are out given the 1900 SAT score and mention of B minuses, but  UCSD is a possibility if you have near a 4.0 UC GPA followed by UCD, UCSB and UCI.

  2. Well its not public but since you live in california i highly recommend you check out Pepperdine University. Your grades seem good enough to get you in. Its in Malibu and its a good school. I think you should at least check it out.

  3. If you are only considering public schools, then you should stay in California.  If you go to another state -- there is no advantage to it being public, as you will be charged at the out-of-state rate.

In California, that means going to a UC school or a CSU school.  All of the UC schools are excellent and none of the CSU schools are particularly good.  My advice is to go to the best UC school that you can get into.

If you can't get into a UC school and have to go to a CSU school, make your decision based on geography and other non-academic factors.  The CSU schools are to universities what McDonald's are to restaurants.  They offer a uniform product that is good quality for the money, but mediocre compared to the good ones.
