  1. The Princeton Review actually does a survey on things like which school do students not "smoke" at, and at which ones is smoking very, very popular. Those on their "reefer madness" list, and which are inearish to the coasts, include:

    - University of Vermont - may be a bit inland for you, but really is in a beautiful place

    - Hampshire College (MA)

    - Bard College (NY)

    - Warren Wilson College (NC)

    - New College of Florida

    - U California Santa Cruz, which is on your list and which others here have mentioned

    - Eugene Lang College (NY)

    - Sarah Lawrence (NY)

    - Pitzer College (CA)

    - Ithaca College (NY)

    - Skidmore College (NY)

    - U Oregon, which is on your list

    - Wesleyan U (CT)

    - Guilford College (NC)

    - UC Santa Barbara

  3. I'm against the use of marijuana, personally, but I am attending at UC Santa Cruz (sophomore now) and... it's kind of hard to ignore it all around you, just the same. People are surprisingly open about it. They have "drum circles" where they all get together and go up into the forest in the middle of the night and smoke and play drums and chill out. On 4/20, they had this big parade and seriously hundreds of people gathered in the Porter field to smoke right out in the open. They didn't get in trouble for it. So... I guess this is your school. Santa Cruz is really cool, anyhow. Everyone I've met out there has been really laid back (even the ones who don't smoke) and the campus is amazing. You pretty much live on the edge of a redwood forest with an ocean view. I mean, c'mon!

  4. don't know if they accept it but you get that good azz Humbolt county greenage at Santa Cruz, but if you are picking a collage because of their tolerance or marijuana smoking, don't bother unpacking, you won't be there long
