People say that your eyes don't actually change color, it depends on the light, etc..

If that's the case, then what color are my eyes? In bright lights they're very bright, almost yellow green.. Moderate light usually a hazel, gold color.. Yet they appear to be a very dark color in dark rooms... How can it all be the same?

  1. They're hazel. That's the beauty of hazel eyes. They can look brown, green, gold and sometimes even aqua depending on the light. It's because our eye pigment is kind of prismatic. So all of those colors are in our eyes when they're hazel and they reflect back the color of the prevailing light in the room. When you go outside things retract from the natural light and then your eyes may look more brown.

  2. i'm dying to know too! sounds like we have almost the exact same eyes :| myne are yellowish with jade green in bright sun and they look light brown with a slight hint of a stronger green in dark rooms.

  3. l have same situation with my eyes, from the outside its like changes its colour but actually it's because of the photograph machine ..l mean when you take a picture then it gives you colorful eyes ( most of time Red ) even you are not drunk lol..

  4. Actually, my eyes have changed colors. They used to be completely brown but now they are more green. I'm not sure why someone would tell you that eyes don't change colors, unless you are only referring to daily change and not a gradual over the years sort.

EDIT: well sorry, now it is just one eye...
