What color carpet do kings and queens walk on when approaching the throne? Red, white, purple, other?

Our homecoming theme this year is Royalty and I want to take care of some details but we are trying to figure out what color carpet do kings and queens walk on when they approach their throne? Some people have said red, I think its purple (because purple is the color of royalty), and others have said white! Help, please!

what i know is the color is red!!!but u are also right that purple is a color of royalty but i do know is that red is the color of the carpet used when the king and queen is approaching the throne!!!

u are on the right track.but the color depends on the culture. as far as i remember the color would be purple as per the japanese and red for many of the european nations. but since ur theme is royalty and not royalty of some particular nation i would suggest you to transcend the barriers. do one thing.  use lots of purple and little of red on the margin with strips of white. the purple would really give a mystic feel in medium light and the red and white would make it somewhat more bright.....so u would have the perfect mix... and good luck in your endeavour..

It depends on the Palace/place where the throne is. Sometimes there is no carpet it's just a bare floor, normally made of stone.
