You can try staying in the green family, but going much, much lighter. Say for example a sea or mint green. I think that would look really nice. Then as an accent color, you could add yellow.

OMG definetely not burgundy or maroon... Taupe is the very best match and you can add any color pillows to accent the room.  Furthermore, you can change the accent pillows seasonally to keep your interest and a fresh look.  Everything matches taupe.  A muted out yellow would also look good.
