    I love green !

  2. Well if you want "pop", try this color of red with white trim:

I think it will also depend on the style of your house and your personality.

The link I provided also has a great program that lets you virtually try out paint colors, so you can experiment there and see what you like.

  3. One of the biggest factors that is unknown is your roof color. Also, what style is your house, some colors just aren't right for certain style homes. Since you are in California, I am thinking that the quality of light is probably a little bit more intense than in other areas of the country. This means that light and subtle colors will get washed out by the intensity of the sun. Remember that the color in the paint store will look 1-2 steps lighter when out of doors due to the nature of outdoor lighting.

If you have a charcoal or black roof then any color will go well. Brown roofs will only accomodate colors with warm undertones such as yellow-based beiges, browns with red undertones. If you want your house to be dynamic, then choose a contrasting trim/body color scheme. Try an earthy green of medium value, trim it in white if you have vinyl windows, if you have wooden windows, then you can be more creative with your trim. Go for a focal point on your door, depending on the formality of your home, you can dress the door with hardware (brass) or a softer pewter tone...maybe black iron is in order especially since you may have a black or charcoal roof. There are many variables which you can see but they do depend upon the colors your house already has but will not change....good luck!
