  1. I think a nice dark cream colour compliments red brick houses the nicest, perhaps "double clotted cream" my dad's a painter and he uses clotted cream against most red brick places. Hope you find what you're looking for.

  2. I had a natural brick home a while back.  I painted the door black.  It 'sounds' dismal, but it was very striking in contrast with the brick.

  3. it depends which direction your home entrance faces. if north - door should be colored in blue, black or white color. if south - red, orange, brick red. etc. etc.

when re-decorating home, bedroom or any other room, always try to choose colors according to feng shui. in this case you will activate powers of 5 elements (water, earth, metal, wood and fire) and support all your lucky "areas" - this will attract love, romance, wealth, money, prosperity, luck etc etc

    good luck!

  4. I think white is great, but you might also try a slate gray color. I know it is traditional to paint the front door red in some places, and if you want to do this, I would choose a variation of red that complements your brick, not the regular bright red.

  5. benjamin moore has a colour viewer tool. i tried out a house, made it brick coloured and the trim i liked best was a dark charcoal grey. it's fun to try out different combos.

  6. garage doors are not very appealing to look at if they are painted a light colour it will take away from the house, so the best way is to blended into to brick work and add other things such as planters on the sides .

  7. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "woodsy brown" (# 2924) would look terrific.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  8. a friend painted her house barn red with a mint green door.

sounds awful but actually looked nice when she got done with all her trimming

  9. Suggestions:

    white

    cream

    rose pink

    peach

    golden yellow

    hunter green

forest green [ tinge of blue ]

    teal blue

    smoke blue

    caramel

    gray

If houses around you are brick, don't use same colors as neighbors on either side of you, or directly across the street.

    brown
