What color eyes could my kids have?

My eyes: Brown

My mom:Blue

My dad: Brown

Husband: Blue

His mom: Brown

His dad: unknown

My daughter: Hazel

My son: brown

If in pretend world we had more kids, what other color combos could they have? Just curious! Thanks!

  1. I don't know much about genetics, so I can't give you percentages, but it sounds like your kids have a better chance of having brown eyes than having blue eyes.

    I also know that it is impossible for two blue-eyed parents to have a brown-eyed child.

Ever heard of Punnett squares?  They are diagrams filled in with information that give you a good probability as to what the odds are going to be as an outcome of mixed statistics.  Your daughter got a combo of the two and your son got your eye color.  There is only chances for brown, blue, and hazel.  Chance puts your next child at brown or maybe hazel, as brown seems to be the dominant hereditary trait.
