I am going fishing in the lake soon. There are three colors of the same worm. I know that it has to due with the time of the day that the fish can see a certain color. But I am not sure the order. There is dark blue, neon green, and white. Any fishing pro's that can help me out?

  1. Although fishing advice and experience would say darker colors later, try out all of them. Sometimes you'll be surprised with what works! Fishing is all about trial and error, if a bait/color/retrieve isn't working, try something else.

  2. use the dark colored worm cuz they can see it better looking up at it when its dark

  3. man you need to go by the water clarity not no neon green white worms -water color=worm color

  4. Ya' may think this be crazy but, at night the Bass cannot detect color however, it's more of an outline/silhouette. When I did Bass (past tense ie., got to commercialized for my likins') I would go w/ a Black or Deep Purple with good results. Gotta' throw this in, the only time I would fish in the evenin' was mainly because I was in a buddies boat and didn't have any say in the matter bout' us headin' in ;)... With the colors you have ta' choose from think I'd sway to the Dark Blue.

Know that I may catch some flack from others when it comes to them colors but, what can I say ~ worked great for me. Good luck, Tight lines and Fish On ;)... < ' ( (( > <

Note: I am definitely NOT the pro that you were hopin' would respond to your question ~ just been doin' it for quite sommme time ;)...

  5. You should use Red shad or blue flake. Toss in Green pumpkin.

The only 3 colors you really need. Forget the rest, save your money.

    Trust me I know.

  6. If it's still light out start with the lighter colored worms, then work your way into the darker colors. You only have three colors, it shouldn't take you very long to try each color (in a given area) and let the fish tell you which color they prefer. Catch a bunch and don't forget catch & release!!!

  7. Black.

The black creates the strongest silhouette.

  8. use all three and find out what works where you actually fish.

  9. What sticky says is 100% true. but some colors that always seem to work well for me are purple, black, & watermellon seed. in that order. good luck.

  10. FishSteelhead and Alex are absolutely right. When night fishing for bass, it's not about color. They can't see it very well anyway. You need a color that is "DARK", something that silhouettes. You want them to feel like "something is there, but what is it?", and get a "curiosity" bite. The fish don't want to pass on a "would be meal". Black, purple, red shad, black neon, black with blue flake, even green pumpkin are good. Thumbs up to FSH and Alex.

  11. Use the white worm.  White is a great colour to use in low visiblity/light conditions.
