  1. Ugh, anything but pink please!!  I don't know why shops which cater to women have to bathe themselves in pink- it makes me a bit ill...

How about a lovely steel gray with white and lavender accents?  That will look modern and feminine without making anyone run in the opposite direction!

  2. i wud suggest...go in for a wallpaper..hmm like a cream base and some pink flowers on it...as in any rose or sum thing..or u can go the other way round!

  3. Here's an summary on the effect of colors & moods

It just depends on what you're going after.  Not all women want to shop in something "girly".  They want something cheerful, peaceful & friendly.  While I agree that the color is important, so will be the background music & the attitude of your staff.  Wall color won't help a rude & disinterested staff.

  4. I'd say white. But, put some points that are glossy whites with little glitter. Put some pictures on the wall. Black trim picture frames with pictures of some gowns and make the background some pastel colors. Good luck.

  5. I think neutral colors are best. colors like beige, warm nudes, soft pinks (no pastels) etc.   Don't do anything too bold.  It can translate into tacky or cheesy.  Keep it modern, neutral and warm.   Look in home decor magazines to get idea.  Also, watch that show "Say Yes to the Dress"  it's filmed at Kleinfield's in New York City.  The shop has very modern, sophisticated and neutral decor.

  6. Pastel pink

  7. I would definitely avoid white as alot of dresses are white or ivory.  Too much white in a room actually makes me feel very uncomfortable and white rooms with ivory dresses will make the ivory look a bit yellow or dingy.  Bright and cold colours can be over stimulating and overwhelming.  Picking out wedding things can be though and stressful and you don't the shop colour to make that any worse.  Personally, I like neutral colours such as tan and beige and cream with nice hard wood floors and splashes of colour by using art and flowers and coloured curtins for dressing rooms in rich colours like deep red or burgandy.  It makes me feel relaxed and at home in the shop which makes me feel less rushed to get in and out.  I would avoid girly in the sense of using pinks, but a wedding shop tends to be a bit girly in that they sell girly things.

  8. I think white walls with marroon or pale pink accents and decorations would look nice.

Nothing too flashy. No yellow, orange, or lime green. Go with soft, feminem colors.

    Pink

    Black & White

    Marroon & Cream.

    Something like that.

  9. Sophisticated.

    White

    Pale Pink

    Accents of Black

    White

    Blue

    Accents of Black

  10. Yellow/ antique gold with cream and black accents.  Bright, fun, can definitely be sophisticated with a touch of girly.  Plus it is just such a happy color and what better feeling for a wedding.

  11. I think something modern like lime/bright greens and light/bright pinks, balanced with lots of ivory and/or whites I think would be the look you are going for.

  12. Natural colors....tan, brown, pale green, burgundy, etc...check and see if someone in your area does faux painting, like ragging or sponging, or read up on it and do it yourself. It's really cool looking...makes it look like it's wallpapered, but no mess or seams.

  13. I would think warm neutral colors would be best, and keep it calm, simple, and classy. You want your merchandise to be the focal point, so while you want people to shop in a comfortable environment you don't want the design to overshadow the products.

Women planning a wedding are not going to be overly concerned with t he surroundings beyond the initial impression and any subconscious feelings they get room the colors. They will be entering a potentially stressful situation, either because they make themselves stressed looking hard at every little detail or because they are overwhelmed. They also may be dealing with pushy family members that are trying to have their say. Bright colors may stress people out more (since they will be stressed to start with), and pink may annoy the less girly brides.

All white isn't good because it can be too sterile and blinding, and it can be harder to keep clean. I would use cream with white accents to make it cozy and not overpowering.
