What color is good for my walls if the carpet is gray?

In my living room my carpet is gray. We just bought our house, need to paint! I am looking for a modern feel. My carpet is a light grey/blueish color, What color should I paint my walls? Thanks! :D

well if you want to go for a modern feel i would say any bright color meaning

red

orange

yellow

blue

green

purple

keep in mind lighter colors will make your room look bigger but darker colors close in the room. and red would probably be a better kitchen color, as it supposedly makes you hungry??? idk but thats wat i heard

probally like a really nice yellow or orange goes great with black or tan

A soft honey color, or a light toffee brown. You can also do a Golden Glory color. I think soft browns will be the best.

Since your carpet and sofa are both neutral colors, you really could go with just about anything.  But if you like decorating with black accessories, I think a deep red, like merlot or maroon, would look cool.
