Okay so if this horse only had 2 white socks on the back what would he be considered? No other white except on the face and back pasterns. Also I believe his base color is sorrel/chestnut so I don't need that info.

Does anyone know who this hansome horse is? Or have any other pictures of him? And what would his half brown/blue eye be called?

  1. I would say hes a solid Overo paint

  2. bay with paint characteristics. his base color is not sorrel/ chestnut. hes got a black mane. chestnuts r not that dark. just a little info there. & if he had 2 white socks he would not b considered paint. he would just have two white socks. (oh my! shocking. eh?)

& i have never seen this horse in my life. another shocker. & his eye is interesting. i like it

  3. Probably a Breeding Stock Paint. Very nice in the picture!

  4. He could be a Paint Bred horse. From the picture he doesn't look like his white markings on his face extend far enough to qualify as a regular Paint. He looks like like he has a partial blue eye so I would say he definitely has  paint genes. Looking at his color he would not be a chestnut/sorrel, but  bay since he has a black mane and tail and black points on his ears. As I said before his half brown/blue eye is called a partial blue.

  5. Looks like a bay.  He has baldface markings(a wide white blaze) on the head, complete with blue eye.  Blue eyes happen a lot with a baldface.

  6. First off he sounds pretty! Since I work alot with pedigrees and such color plays a big role. If he is papered it would be a good idea to seach his lines for paint ansestors. Because of the white, he could be a paint stock horse. I have seen bloodlines of horses where the Sire is a paint and the Dam is a bay and the foal comes out bay with white socks. Therefore the horse is considered a paint stock. Hope this helps! Sorry I did not look at the picture because my computer is slow, so thin anwser is based off of your description.

  7. well he's dark bay. it looks like he's probably got paint bloodlines the blue eyes aren't common in just regular bay horses. There could be some appaloosa too. More likely he's just a solid paint.

  8. not to sound mean to the other people who answered, but paints are QH...your horse has to be a QH with paint markings/breeding to be reg with the APHA, any other breed crossed with a paint is called/reg as a pinto...yes, he looks like a breeding stock paint.

  9. He would be a bay (bark bay possibly) with very interesting facial marks.

  10. he is a gorgeous horsem and i would honestly like to know more about him.

he may be a qhxpaint but the color has to go above the knees or else he would be breeding stock paint, either way, if he is a x between paint and qh he can be registered in both associations.

i would say bay/blood bay in color actually.

    hope this helps.

  11. this horse is a bay and i've seen this horse before. well i've seen his pictures before. he has stallion listings on web classified sites, and from his ads i also know that he's registered as a bay overo paint. he has a stallion listing on dreamhorse.com classifieds, but i don't remember his name. try a stallion search on dreamhorse. you can enter infomation like breed (APHA overo), color (bay), height, etc. to narrow your search. i'm going to go see if i can find him
