Okay. I'm painting the walls in my room a light blue color (serenity from benjaminmoore) I'm also painting the walls in my bathroom the same color.

Here are the questions.

1. If this is the shade of orange in my room

http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?ItemID=14fe8e9&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=STY&ShowMenu=T&s****.=0&SearchString=orange+sheets&RefPage=SearchDepartment.aspx&CmCatId=SearchResults&Search1Prod=True

then what color orange should I paint my ceiling and shelf around my room. (I want it to be a lighter shade but they have to be the same color. So if you could find me a color on either here www.sherwin.com/visualizer or here www.benjaminmoore.com that would be great.

2. If I paint my bathroom walls the same shade of blue then should I paint my bathroom ceiling the same color too?

3. I also want a white modern lounge chair for my room so if you could give me some links, thanks.

Also, if you have other ideas for my room, tell me!

(the colors are lime green, blue

  1. Hi Vanilla Bean,

Sorta surprised you aren't painting your room vanilla.

Okay, here we go, for the color orange you want, take your orange sheet to the paint store, and tell them you want a softer version of that color.  They can add white to the color to mute it a wee bit.

No rules on the ceiling, paint it the same if you want to, or paint the ceiling a soft green like cucumber for a spa feel with the blue.

Modern lounge chair, check out this one from overstock:

    Product # 11090827

    Description:

    Garden/Lily-Tawny-Chaise-Lounge-Chair

I have had good luck ordering stuff from them.  Read the product reviews and see what you think.

As for ideas, I always try and put something in the room that is black.  Not the whole room, just a piece or accent pillow, something.   Seems to ground the room and set off the other colors.  But it totally depends on what looks good to you.

    Have fun!

  2. I think "vanillin" (# 6371) by Sherwin Williams would look terrific for the ceiling in your bedroom & your bathroom.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

    http://www.roomvues.com/

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
