  1. Limey green, goldish green, and orange look really good with cherry wood. If you like color or are artistic in any way, then you should definately go with a bright color. I guarantee you won't get tired of it nearly as fast as you do a pale color. I have a different bright color in every room of my house and I LOVE IT!!!! It makes you feel so happy! :)

  2. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a it would look terrific to paint it a dark yellow like "anjou pear" (# 6381).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  3. I tend to agree with your nanny, not just that you'd get sick of a bright color, but you want your bedroom to be relaxing, plus a bright color wouldn't necessarily go with the other things in the room, it might be overpowering.  my sister painted her room a bright orange/tangerine and instantly regretted it.  a warm yellow might give you the same brightness but also be easier to deal with.  light blue or green can be really classy with the cherry hardwood.  maybe you should find one of those quizzes that tell you what kind of dog you are or superhero or whatever, find one that says what color your personality is.  just for fun, you don't have to go with what it says, but it might give you some ideas.  also looking through magazines can give you ideas.  good luck!

  4. blue, orange, and lime green. each colour on a different wall. they sound bad together but look REALLY good. and when i say blue, i mean like, microsoft windows blue.

  5. Pick out your very favorite color.  Then you won't get tired of it.  My mother told me I would get tired of my pink kitchen but I haven't and it has been many years now.

  6. I would go with probably go with light blue or green. But I  think light blue is better.

  7. when i read your description the first color that came to my mind was yellow
