  1. Hey that's my wedding day!! We're doing the sand ceremony too. But we are including our kids in it as well and now that I think of it none of the colors are our wedding colors. (Our wedding colors are Victorian Lilac and Platinum Silver but our sand is Pink, Mint Green, Dark Blue, Light Blue and Maroon.)

The two of you could either use your favorite colors or stick to your wedding colors in which place I think maybe you could use your picture as an example...where there is white, use red for that...Then the two of you mix white and wine.

  2. my husband i recently renewed our vows and we did the sand for ours and we had each child chose a color and then we chose our own color also. it really looks good when you have two differnt colors other then your wedding colors. pick your favorite colors and do it that way. when you add one at a time then blend them it really looks wonderful.

  3. I would use all three. Maybe just not as much red as the white and wine though.

  4. The sand for a sand ceremony looks really beautiful when layered. I would use the three colors, or variations thereof.

Layer each color in each of your individual containers so that it is all mixed together when you combine your sand together.

  5. Absolutely red and white.  The white stands for the purity of the virgin bride.  The red symbolizes for the deflowering.  When you combine the two, you are symbolizing the consumation of your marriage.  It is very beautiful and symbolic.

  6. I have been wanting to do this exact ceremony at our wedding.  I would use all 3 colors...(I do not have my colors picked out yet) but I will first have our minister pour the first color as the "base" of our relationship.  Then my fiance will pour his color then I will pour mine on top to show us as 2.    The minister will pour one more layer to show the joining of us.  Then all 3 of us will pour all at once to show our relationship with each other and with Christ.

Good luck!  I know it will be special!

  7. we are doing this at our wedding too.  we are using black, white, and lime green.  our colors are lime green, black, and fuchsia.  maybe you could do black, white, and red.  I think it might look funny with the purple color and the red.  and with using the red you will be able to see a difference in the color more easy.  if you are using three colors, maybe you could have the person that is going to marry you pour the third color.... we are doing that and it is symbolizing us being united with Christ as a family.

  8. if i marry my current bf i was thinking about doing a sand ceremony cause he has kids i was thinking everyone just picks there favorite color.i was going to display it in my house after the wedding so it really doesnt matter if it matches your wedding color scheme cause where you display it might not match your wedding colors.i think thebeauty of it is all the different colors blended together. so each person should have a different color they get to pour in.hope that helps!
