  3. Cream and black is existing both very neutral. Nearly any color would work. Where you live may dictate what is appropropriate. If you're in a southern  territory you may  choose a nice cooling pastel. If you are in a northern area a rich deep warm color would be good. Think about what colors you like. Hold the swatch at arms length and visualize it on the wall. This will help you with the overall effect. Stay away from greys and browns. Bring a second accent color into the room with a few choice pcs. A colorful vase, pot rack, or even a kitchenaid appliance can stand out as an accent color. Have fun and make sure whatever color you select it is what you feel comfortable with (you'll be the one living in it). One more thing- phychologically greens decrease appetite and oranges increase.  Michele

  4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look terrific to do a dark green like "inverness" (# 6433).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  5. I'm totally agreeing with the red!  Are your cabinets wood?  That would also play a key factor.  Sage Green would also look good in there.  Best of luck and have fun!  Remember- Decorate for what you love, not for anyone else!!!

  6. Red.  Pick a shade/tone that you like, but black, cream and red look great together.
