What color should I paint my kitchen?

The kitchen cabinets are a light oak color and the tile floor has the same color tone. At first, I wanted to paint the kitchen a soft yellow, but now I'm thinking that I need some contrast. What color goes well?

Depends on where the kitchen is located. If in the south- red, orange and yellow will work. If north- blue, black and white. East - green, yellow and white. Southwest - pink, green and blue.

I recently moved into a condo, which the previous owner had a color scheme of this.

Light/Creamy yellow with a Dark Blue, also has light oak floors, trim, and cabinets.

At first I wasnt sure If I liked it.  

Let me say this, it has grown on me, and I LOVE IT...

I get compliments all the time on my kitchen.  People are always asking if I picked out the color scheme... At first, I told em the previous owners did it.. Now, I lie, and say I did it, because of the compliments...

It really appeals to a wide range of color tastes, and this combo is a winner.

I would opt for a deep earthtone; It would warm up your space and the reds and orange tones opens the appetite.  If you like yellow, a deep mustard shade would be nice.  You could also accent with your accessories in the cooler side of the color wheel.

Depends on the size of room you are painting, smaller the room the lighter the paint should be in colour to give the illusion of space. A powder blue would balance the orange/yellow under tones of the fixtures you have.

with light wood it's great, because you can add almost any color.  what about spicing it up with some light green or blue. then you can have your kitchen accessories as darker tones of green and brown, or navy and white and maybe yellow?  here is some inspiraton

I did my kichen in yellow cuz I have the same kind of cabinets and it looks beautiful go 4 the yellow you wont regret it
