  1. Think of it this way - does your kitchen connect to another room(s) where you can see the color scheme throughout? If so, be consistent with your color choices. The cherry sounds great, the green (carpet) is different, but workable. Pick up either on the cherry color, a lighter version that you see in the cabinets themselves - I don't mean pink, just the light tones you'll see in your cabinets. OR, try a couple shades lighter than your dark greens and work with the green of the carpet/counters. OR, stay safe with the light color of the tile. Keep it on the warm side to accent the wood tones. This basically would be a red and green kitchen and could be nicely accented with your hardware, appliances or dishware that's "on show". Accents in a brushed metal tones, wrought iron black or stainless silvers. Good luck. LT

  2. bright white or a eggshell i a satin finish

  3. go for a creamy white will work well stark white just looks harsh. kudos on the cherry cabinets =)

  4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "starry night" (# 6540) might be a good color choice.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  5. look around your kitchen what light colors do you see that draw your eye to them? as an example what colors are in your curtains, dinnerware , items you like... use a light color , pale color or muted color... no white or off white because then it be too stark and cold with the dark green and cherry and the tile. Use the white only as an accent color to tie in the tile.
