What color should I paint thresholds?

Hi all,

I'm painting the floors in several rooms of my house (a variety of colors). Should the thresholds be painted to match the rooms they lead into, or the rooms they lead out of?

Close the door and paint them the same color as the room they are in.

I say don't paint them at all. We painted our thresholds and the paint started peeling.

painting floors is not a good idea.........staining, carpets, tile.......these go on floors....it is scary to think about painted floors. they would not wear at all, think walking on walls.

i recon lead out of as long as the colours dont clash or you could paint them a complenting or nutral colour

i think you should paint it to in different color.. a darker tone of the wall not the floor.. to have  unity..

TRY THE R00MS THEY LEAD OUT OF THAT WILL BETTER SUIT EVERYTHING,SINCE YOUR LEAVING OUT YOU;LL KNOW WHATS COMING UP...I THINK YOU SHOULD DO MINT GREEN-EGG BAIGE-MAROON-AND BURNT ORANGE

i'd either pick the color of the room they are in (like if it's a bedroom leading to the hallway, paint it the bedroom's color) or pick a nice complimentary color that enhances both.  interesting idea.  never seen painted floors before.  good luck!

IDEALLY, THEY SHOULD BE NEUTRAL; BUT IF YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE LEAN TOWARD THE ROOMS THEY LEAD OUT OF; WHEN THE DOORS TO THE ROOMS ARE CLOSED, THE PUBLIC SPACE BECOMES THE EXTERIOR. WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ROOM WITH THE DOOR CLOSED, THE COLOR OF THE ROOM PREDOMINATES INSIDE. OUTSIDE, THE HALL OR FOYER  FLOORING DOMINATES, LEADING YOU TO LOOK AT THE THRESHHOLD. HOPE THIS HELPS
