  1. You should paint the walls as dark as you can within your personal taste.  They don't have to be black and the more you can control the darkness in the room with curtains the lighter of a color you can actually use.  Also you should use a FLAT paint instead of glossy.  Glossy paint can reflect the light and distract from viewing.

  2. our projector room is cream walls.

my ex had his room set up and had all old movie block posters around the room... looked awesome

  3. Front wall and ceiling definitly must be black. You don't want light reflected off the walls hitting the screen. If you had green walls the reflected light could give your projected image a slight green push.

The side walls will reflect a little but the ceiling is the most important. Grey is also an option for walls but it's pretty drab.

You can also build a shadow box to help stop reflected light from hitting the screen. If you build out the front wall and recess the screen back 6" to a foot and paint the inside border of the shadow box flat black you would accomplish this.

  4. black

  5. Black is surely the best color to bring out the colors of the projected movie or slide show you're viewing. But, unless it's really your favorite, it won't look too good for a bedroom.

Any dark color without much designs (wallpaper, etc.) would be fine, I guess.

  6. Dark colors work the best.
