The background is black and the electrons are silver marbles. I think that the protons should be white and the neutrons gray, but my dad likes red and yellow. Which of us has a better color scheme, or do you think we need a new one altogether?

  1. Serious answer: neither protons nor electrons have any true color as they are too small to reflect or absorb light.

Less than serious answer:  think of a car battery which has 2 poles, negative and positive.  Assign a value to your protons and neutrons and color them green and red accordingly.

  2. What ever you like is fine.  The red and grey might be visually more pleasing and easy because the contrast between red, yellow, and silver is great.
