  1. creamy orange?

    dark blue?

    rich green?

deep red and gold, maybe sponge painted or another faux style?

  2. There is a color that is like dark pink (mauve) which is used to produce instant relaxation.

  3. I would go for a light beige colour for the walls, and a pastel blue for the ceiling

  4. No faux painting- it'll be too much with the bold pattern of the bedding.  Beige seems too safe if you want it too pop.  It is hard to do leopard print and not make it too dated (dark green), so be carefull.   Also, I LOVE orange rooms, but be warry of the color for a bedroom you spend time in, psychologically speaking.

I actually am an interior designer and I own leopard print sheets, so from experience deep red colors will help make it pop.  Right now my room is a super dark brown that almost looks black and I have red as an accent color (drapes, throw, etc.)  It doesn't have a 'pop' so to speak, but the really dark color makes my room look bigger, but still feel intimate, which is nice for a bedroom.  It is a bit richer looking.  Also, all black sheets and bedskirt with it are a little too '80s pimp looking. Trust me.

By the way, kudos on the bold choice.  Don't be scared, you'll find the right color.

  5. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "plum brown" (# 6272) would look terrific.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
