Question:

What color tattoo should I get??

So I'm going to get a tattoo on my left wrist of a simple, simple cross. Seriously, just two bars, nothing else. I originally wanted an all white one, with no color, but my tan skin will most likely reject the white... so, i'm thinking either light blue or an emerald green... or a combo of the two?? Anyone have any ideas or pics of a cool green/blue color combo? Thanks!

  1. As far as white goes, not only will it not necessarily show well, but it is also the fastest to fade, so using it for highlights will work on a defined black and gray with color (but you will have to have them touched up every so often)

here is a very simple cross, but more unique, ... you could make the center cross in black, and have the outside lines in a color, or two colors: http://www.tattoonow.com/images/catalog/...

here is a site with some examples, and text that says that reds and dark greens hold up well with tan skin:

this picture shows how well green shows up on darker skin (green and blue might look good):

here is a site, showing all kinds of tattoos on tan to dark skin, so you can see how colors translate:

Good luck with your tattoo choices.

  2. clear

  3. Who told you the tan skin would reject the white ink? You may have to go over it a couple times, but you shouldn't have too much trouble as long as your skin isn't hella dark. if you want white ink, go talk to your artist. They should be able to do it.

  4. I think you should get the color mixed up and or you can see it yourself and find out how you like it.

  5. I always though colored tattoos looked tacky. I would just stick with black but thats just my opinion.
