What color to paint cabinets if the countertop is white?

any ideas on colour choice for the kitchen cabinets?? im going to do a faux finish anyways. the countertop is white, and tile undecided (i will work my way around teh cabinets)

  1. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    I think it would look way cool if you paint your cupboards a dark blue-gray called "granite slab" (# 7196) from their SandScapes faux finish collection. The paint has the texture of sand, so it will add an interesting element to the room.

  3. classic black. My friend has black cabinets and they can fit two very opposing styles--country/vintage or contemporary. They look country if they are distressed which is what she did. Contemporary if you put enamel or high-gloss on them.
