I hate the colors pink and purple. I'm not girly at all. NO green. I naturally am depressed. and tomboy. NO baby/light colors what should I do?

i love blue, but could it make me more sad?

  1. no blues a really good color

its the most relaxing color to look at

green is also relaxing but you say no green :P

  2. well, I think that a nice, bright color would cheer you up, like yellow. And it would make the room feel more open because its small. And it would look really nice if you painted white shapes or letters on your wall and do similar designs on your white dresser, only in yellow. And you dont have to go with yellow, of course. I know that you said no bright colors but light colors are more cheery and know how to make a room feel like a better place to be. You can always substitute yellow for a blue.

  3. a dark bright blue dark blue would make it look very gloomy mabey a good orange or red even

  4. Blue is good, with some form of white to accent it somehow (like the framing or something)... hard to suggest a colour without any pics or visuals... but generally for me blue is great. It's not so dominating, and it makes you feel relax if you get the right shade. The lighter, sky blues may help, because it helps when light shines through your windows, bringing a more uplifting vibe. Any form of warmer and earthy colours inside your room (blankets, bed, etc...) can compliment your wall colour as well.

Colours in which I personally advice to avoid:

Reds (makes you feel tense, angry, or stressed)

    Greys (makes you feel dull)

Black/Dark Colours (seriously, not a good choice to use on the wall)

  5. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

Maybe you would like something like "fired brick" (# 6335). Not too bright, not too light, not pink, green, purple or blue.

You can also take a photo of your room & upload it to the makeover gallery on Roomvues dot com:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
