What color walls should I have?

I am going to have all white furniture like desk dresser and bed frame.

I'm going to have a black and white zebra bedspread.

I want the walls to be a bright stand out color

and then I will have accessories around the room to brighten the furniture up.

What colors though?

And I want them all four different colors, just not so bright that they will wake me up at night, but bright enough to stand out majorly.

  1. If you are looking for two different colors I would go with a  darker bright pink and green. Go to home depot and get a few samples tape them to the wall and observe the colors throughout the day.  Put a check mark on the sample you like once in the morning, noon and night.  I would then use a similar ( not the same) pink and a bright green for accents like on your throw pillows. You can also go to you local second hand store and find different sizes of decorative mirrors and paint them.  Match the paint to the throw pillows. At Kelly Moore you can get some pretty small portions of paint just perfect for this.  Have one wall with a cluster of the mirrors.  I know you didn't ask about decorating but I get carried away with this kind of stuff ;)

  2. go with colors that touch on the rainbow.  I personally would do all one color but either different shades or 2 walls/2 walls of different colors. i like think orange would be nice on all 4 (same shade)...my bf in high school had orange walls with alot of black furniture...it was nice.

  3. Maybe green and yellow(if your a guy)

Or green and pink(if your a girl)

I think it would look kinda tacky if they were ALL different colors!

  4. Pick a favorite color (yellow, pink, gray etc.) and use 4 different hues of that color.

  5. Paint 3 walls white, and paint the one wall that your bed is on your favorite color. Then put accents with your favorite color on the desk, and dresser, and in a decorative pillow on your bed. You might use the color black as a container with your favorite color flower. The proportions of color in the room would be white 60%, your favorite color 25% and black 15%. I would start with the three colors - white, black, your favorite color, and if adding a tiny bit of a 4th color then go with the color that is directly opposite on the color wheel chart as a small accent in the pillow or flowers. So if you fav color is blue, then add another accent in orange, or if you fav is green, add another accent in red. http://www.colormatters.com/colortheory....  You could start with a rug of your favorite color for beside your bed or a fabric for a pillow, then match the accents to this color. If you find an article of clothing in the store with the latest trendy color, the paint store can match the paint to your favorite color clothes. You might paint some inexpensive picture frames in your fav color and make a photo grouping on one of the white walls. Have fun!

  6. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    I think 2 shades of blue & 2 shades of yellow - like "viva gold" (# 6367), "glittery yellow" (# 7125), "naval" (# 6244) and "aquarium" (# 6767) would look terrific.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
