  1. Depending on the shade of blue, a light Gray, a creamy yellow (especially if the room is dark), tan, light blue and of course, white!  You can always do an accent wall in a different color too!  If you use light gray, a darker gray for the accent wall, yellow or light blue would go with a darker blue, tan could go with a slightly darker tan.  Depends on the furniture also.

  2. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look way cool if you paint your room a dark gray called "pewter goblet" (# 7195) from their SandScapes faux finish collection.  The paint has the texture of sand, so it will add an interesting element to the room.

  3. My son had a steel-gray (blue-ish gray) color on his walls

and went well with his black and chrome-silver furniture.

  4. mint green

  5. I'm having the same trouble not knowing at the minute too. I also have a blue carpet and I'm trying to repaint my room - I think depending on the blue carpet shade a chocolate brown and earthy neutral colours like sandy, tan etc would work okay :)

  6. like a grayish color or another shade of blue

  7. light blue with some patterns of the same blue of the carpet

  8. bluish in shade as well, depending on the shade of the carpet also, you can go to b&q or homebase to compare paint colors, bring a sample of the carpet if you have any.
