What color will get the 2 strands of DMC?!?

i am working on a crossstitch and there's a pattern that need combo of 2 DMC colors.! since i started to use 3 strands what color will get 2 strands?

Pick  up the two strands and see if you can find one that is in between the two colors.  Or if you can't find that,  use the least prominent color.  Your right as if you only use two strands you will have a flaw in the height of the thread.
