Question:

What colors are good for an August wedding?

I am getting married at the end of August 2009, but I really wanted a fall wedding. Because of this I'd like more fallish colors but I acknowledge that I am getting married in the summer. Would Plum work or is it too dark?? What about burgundy??? If I chose Plum what other colors would go well with it??

Any other ideas??

Thanks!! If I can give any more info just please let me know!

  1. How about burgundy with some accents of lighter pink and silver?  That kind of gives it a late-summer-into-fall kind of feel.

  2. Blue and brown are very in this year... blue is more of a Summer color, while brown would tie in the "fall" side of things nicely.

    Other combos that I love;

    - Ivory, burgundy and brown

    - Sage green and ivory

    - Brown and burnt orange

I am making a wedding cake for one fall wedding that is throwing every color of the Autumn tree spectrum into their wedding; yellow, dark green, brown, orange, red... seems a bit busy to me, but it can be nice if done correctly.

  3. My girlfriend is getting married in August and she's doing a fall kind of theme.  She's doing dark greens, browns, and a hint of orange.

  4. Plumb for a fall-ish color and maybe a lighter blue for a summer-ish touch, since they'd compliment each other, too.

  5. I like Plum and forest green or plum and nurgendy. You can do a lot with those colors and it doesn't matter that it's not considered "fall" yet.

  6. I've been to a wedding in June and there's were yellow orange cream so stick with those colors maybe.

You can do tan burgandy just think of the color of the leaves

  7. I like burgundy, but that might be more of a christmas one.

  8. blue and brown

  9. Plum and silver

  10. Brown and turquoise

  11. Why do the colors have to match the month?

If you're that worried about, it's August now! Look around you and see what colors are in nature now.

  12. It is your wedding so you do whatever colors you want but I think a fall colored wedding would be absolutly beautiful. It is in all reality not that far off from fall. Good luck and congrats

  13. You may be surprised, but orange is really in.  Don't think of this as the horrific, ugly, in-your-face orange, but something a little more subtle.

I have found a website for you that offers this "orange" color, along with other colors that will work well with it.

Personally, I think chocolate brown, aqua, and orange would be very extravagant!
