  1. the groups i use when doing laundry are:

    whites

    colors

    reds and dark pinks

    jeans and heavy pants

    towels

    delicates

  2. First, think about what clothes you have already washed and gotten some of the color out of.....

I always put darks together, grays, greens, blues, blacks, browns, navys, jeans, ALWAYS wash darks in COLD.  If I have enough time or bulk (or money, I have to pay for laundry), I will do a load of reds/oranges/fuchsias on cold.  Usually these are the only colors that bleed, but the more you wash things, the less they bleed.  Lastly is a load of whites/beiges/tans/light blues/pinks/light lavendars/yellows.  You can wash these in warms if you want and add a little bit of bleach (but that may fade the light colored items).

Always wash your towels separate so no other clothing gets the pills/fuzzes stuck to them.  You can wash your sheets separate in hot to get ride of nasty bacterias.

Think about it like this, the colors (including reds) will most always produce dark dirty water, you don't want any of your lighter clothing to turn dark/grey.  But if you've washed an item many times, it is okay once in awhile to put in a grey tee with your whites.

  3. white colors are separate and the dark colors go in another one and then the light colors...and check if they have to be washed with warm or cold water
