What colors look good on a yellow poster?

We're doing an "About Me" poster thingie, and i was thinking on how to decorate it, I wanna put construction paper on it and stuff, and I was wondering what color construction paper to put on it...

Depending on the shade of yellow, blue or purple are complementary colors.

it depends on the shade of yellow!

If it's like a pastel or lighter yellow you could do all pretty lighter pastel shades like pinks, blues purples, even a light yellow-green. That will also look very girly though.

If it's a really bold yellow I think navy blue looks really good with bright yellow. since it's sooo bold I would maybe try to stick to just one or two colors to avoid confusing the eye when looking at it. Try using different textures instead of different colors to keep it exciting like using a glitter pen in certain areas for example. If you want to add another color try it as an accent color to the dark one...like a pink with the navy would probably look really nice. But chose the darker one as your main color and just accent with the other color.

I would definitely stay away from black unless you want it to remind people of a bumble bee.

for me, black or any other dark color will be good, because, if u use bright color on it, it will become too catchy, yellow is catchy enough for people to see.

well, black stands out but because yellow is quite a light colour, most bright colours look good on it.

Shades Of Blues work really good!

So does purple!

basically anything that doesn't make it look tacky, like maybe avoid greens and reds :]

Purple, black, blue, and green all look good with yellow.

Black will make a dramatic statement. Green will look fresh

and give your poster an "up beat" look. Pink and blue

are softer gentler looks. Brown will look Autumn-ish

and orange will give you an Halloween look. Personally

I would stay away from purple. Red will make your poster

look juvenile.

it depends how you want the final project to look...

PURPLE is yellow's complementary color, which would create a contrast and make everything pop out at you

REDs and ORANGEs would blend with your project background and make everything look warmer

But personally, I like a blueish/purple over yellow
