  1. I  would suggest a black riding coat

  2. I would suggest a palet of blues and greens. Pinks will clash with the chesnut. Whatever you do, do not ever wear yellow. It looks horrid on any horse!

  3. Dark green looks best on chestnut, and lime green looks great on bays

dark green also looks good on bays, but it doesnt stand out as much as on a chestnut

  4. I own a bay. Although any color looks good on him, I really like a royal blue.  Consider the color of your saddle also.  You want to make a complete picture so factor in ALL your tack and clothing.

  5. Umm i think that the best is sky blue or brown

  6. Well I looked at a color wheel, and this is what it recommended:

    For a bay horse:

Bays look good in bright jewel tones such as blues, purples, and reds.

    For a chestnut horse:

Chestnuts look good in earth tones such as browns, grays, and black.

But both would coat colors also go with teal, deep greens, sage, and turquoise.

So it sounds like you could choose from a number of colors.

  7. you want something that does not take away from the horses beauty. So find something flattering that matches those tones. Bays and chestnuts have a lot of red to them so I would stay away from reds, pinks, corals, or oranges. Lighter blues or lavenders would make a nice contrast without being too loud.

  8. brown blue or black.

  9. a really good place to find this out is www.hobbyhorseinc.com, then on the purple tabs to the left of the pge click on dress for success, then winning colors. this has a wheel that has all of the coors horses come in what colors look good with them, for a bay wear bright jewel tones like blues, piurples and reds. and for chestnuts earth tones look best like sand, whiskey and chocolate, this web site also has lots of other helpful hints and some really interesting clothes.

    Blue

    Purple

    Silver

    etc

    For a Bay I think

Pink Silver Black will make him really stand out.

    For a Chestnut

Orange or Blue or Red woth a gold or silver and black.

  11. I am just guessing you ride english dont know for sure but if so you should wear a navy blue hunt coat with beige beaches !!

  12. Well depending what your doing..If your doinf wetern something BRIGHT sop the judge will notice you..I would sujest Teal/turquise, and Lime green...

If your showing English...well you cant really have colors for English...Unless your doing Cross country... Mine Are Navy,Lime green, and Teal.

If you have a chestnut I would NOT sugest Red!!!!!!!! No matter what shade! I would nt prbably suggest pink eather!

  13. it depends on what type of riding youre doing

  14. Hobby horse recommends a spectrum from red to brown earth tones.  My daughter wears orange with light oil tack on a rust colored pad on her chestnut.  Looks very sharp!

The link below is the color recommendations from Hobby Horse.

English, hunt and saddleseat disciplines have very specific rules regarding clothing depending on the discipline.  Check the rule book for the sanctioning body for the show.  For example, white jods can only be used for dressage.  Saddleseat vests are different for equitation and showmanship, etc....
