  1. search on the net for weddings and colour combinations

you could possibly be interested in the latest styles, colours and trends or just looking for what you think would be nice that you never thought of before

first of your a spring/summer wedding you can go for pastel tones like pinks, lilacs and truffle tones

if your having a fall weddings opt for richer colours like deep purple, black, red, copper or chocolate

If your wanting all different colours, it may be difficult but make sure they compliment each other and the shades blend well

I personally would go for same colour different dresses

  2. I prefer the same color dresses, too, but have seen it done nicely with different pastel colors (spring wedding) What color you choose depends on the time of year and the time if day. Darker colors are better for fall & winter and are considered more formal (evening weddings). Lighter colors are great or spring and summer.

It is a personal decision, though. My bridesmaids wore less formal dresses as we had an early wedding - late lunch. and they were floral print - early fall. But that was 16 years ago! I had a friends who got married over New Years and had an evening wedding. She asked each of her bridesmaids to purchase a black velvet, t-length dress. No frills or extra decorations - that way they had a formal look, but each purchased something that they would look good in and might wear again!

  3. Keep this in mind when you are deciding.

If you choose to have all 4 bridesmaids wear different styles but in the same color, they need to try to keep it in the same material.  I recently went to a wedding that did this and one came in a gorgeous silk gown and another one came in a jersey knit dress and it looked off.  David's Bridal has different styles of dresses that all come in the same material.  www.davidsbridal.com

If you choose to do different colors it might be nice to do every other dress the same color.  So Bridesmaid #1 and Bridesmaid #3 have the same color and Bridesmaid #2 and Bridesmaid #4 have the same.  Depends on your wedding colors.  For instance if you have red and black as your colors two would wear black and two could wear red.  And then do the same for the groomsmen.  Have them match their vest or cummerbund to their walking partner.

    Good Luck!

  4. I agree, too many colors would look scattered and unorganized, but different styles would be nice, also you gave me an idea for my wedding XD thanks!

  5. I would say pick a main color and one or two colors to compliment it,

    like...

    green, pink, white/cream.

It can depend when your date is.... if it's in Fall, you could go w/ darker colors or if it's around Christmas, you could have sort of a Christmas color theme.

As for the dresses..... I prefer same color, different styles. For one reason, it's easier and more practical, because rarely do all the girls look good in the same style and this way they can choose something they're comfortable in.

  6. ugh. depends on your likings like you can do same style but different colors but still in the color theme. diff styles really arent a cool thing to me ! esp. if you have different sized ppl. k k bye

  7. I suggest you use your favorite color . . . and white (or ivory).  Combine that with the dark color of the men's tuxes, and you have three colors.

Have the bridesmaids' dresses be the same color (your favorite color), but different styles.

I think when folks get into having 4 or 5 colors, that is a bit much.  Go for simple elegance.  Keep it to your favorite color and white (or ivory).

  8. My sister had each of the 3 bridesmaids in the same style but with a different jewel-toned colour.  Emerald, sapphire, purple-ish pink (it was called amethyst but didn't look much like the actual gemstone).  All in a shiny fabric.  The look was stunning.

Admittedly, that is a bit harder to pull off than all the same colour.

If you go with the same colour, I suggest you also go with the same fabric.  Otherwise the dresses look like they don't actually 'go' together.

  9. same color different styles. too many colors would be too complicated and take the focus away from the couple getting married. different styles can be much more simple and elegant, not to mention your bridesmaids will love that they can all pick a dress that suits their body shape.
