Question:

What colour do you think I would suit?

I'm wanting to dye my hair but not sure what colour to go for.

I'm a natural ash blonde, and rather pale, and have dark blue eyes.

I've been auburn for a few months and dyed my hair blonde again so right now I'm a strawberry blonde colour.

I liked Rachel McAdams hair in The Notebook, but I'm thinking I want to try something else.

I'm not sure what would suit me so I'm open to suggestions. I also will be doing it myself as I can't afford to splash out at a salon right now so any brands and shades available in the UK would be fab :)

  1. i have the same eye colour as you and i also quite pale, having been blonde for years (natural colour rather mousy) i went brunette a couple of months ago and it was the best thing i ever did!  my blue eyes now stand out and everyone comments on them, before no one ever noticed them!  i can go a bit darker with my eye make up and can wear colours i never could before.  As long as you are cool with the pale and interesting look as you can look a bit washed out.  Also i now have amazing shine which i never really had as a blonde.  i done mine at home despite hairdressers telling me it would go green!  i found that the only hair dye that actually stated blonde to brown was the feria one.  good luck!

  2. i think you'd look great in a darker colour, like brown with highlights.

    try smth new...

  3. dye it with gold but still blonde..(hope it helps)

  4. How about chocolate brown? Don't go for anything too dark though (think milk chocolate, not pure) as it will make you look more pale if you go to dark. Red could be a good colour too but since you've had that already, I guess you're looking for something else. Anything between auburn, golden blond and chocolate brown should work, since warm colours add colour to your skin as well.

Colours you should not go for: pure black (gives a blue shine and drowns out any colour in your face even more), platinum blond (too light, you'll look like a ghost), silver, blue... Keep to the natural colours, except for black and near-white.
